Built the first version of the widget SDK that became Rentgrata's primary distribution surface—and the one I would migrate to TypeScript and React four years later.

The SDK was the first thing prospective renters touched. Everything downstream—dashboards, messaging, the operator surface—depended on whether the widget rendered correctly on a property’s marketing page within a second of arrival.
What changed
- Built the flagship widget SDK end-to-end as the company’s primary distribution surface.
- Conversion lifted 163% in the first two months after launch.
- Reworked setup so install partners could integrate without engineering hand-holding.
- Added observability that made it possible to tell, from the operator side, whether a property’s widget was healthy.
What it taught the platform
This entry is short because the work itself was short and direct: make the install easier, make the failure modes legible, ship something property managers want to embed. The lessons from version one—what the boundary is actually promising, what the host page can and cannot tolerate—became the brief for the TypeScript and React rewrite years later.
